Orginally conceived in response to the 2004 AGIdeas competition brief 'Before and After' and re-submitted in 2010 for The Australia Project.
AGIdeas is an annual design conference held in Melbourne, Australia. It attracts over 2000 attendees. Each year student participants are invited to enter a competition where they must create a piece of work in response to a given quote. In 2004 it was 'Before and After'. This entry simply placed the two sides of an Australian coin in opposition and in doing so commented on the injustices suffered by Aboriginal people since the white colonisation of Australia. It was awarded both the Collie Trust Award and the Fabrica scholarship.
The Australia Project is a series of creative initiatives exploring the contemporary Australian identity.
